As a distinctly Pentecostal fellowship, we are committed to a Christ-centered ministry.  We believe me must display:

•  The Power of Christ—We believe that signs, wonders, and supernatural manifestations of Christ’s presence are for today.

•  The Personality of Christ—We serve a shepherd whose personality traits can be summed up in Galatians 5:22-23.  As one anointed by the Holy Spirit for good works (Acts 10:38), Jesus displayed the fruit of the Spirit in abundance; so must we.

•  The Purpose of Christ—Christ stated His mission clearly, with no ambivalence:  “The Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.” (Luke 19:10)

Missions, then, is the very essence of the purpose of Christ.  We serve a missions-minded Lord and we worship a missionary God.  God is so  passionate about missions that He had only one Son, and that Son was a missionary!

One cannot operate in the very rhythm of God’s heartbeat without being committed to missions.  The purpose of this magazine, then, is to help connect us with the heart of God.  As you read about our front-line soldiers in the cause of Christ, may you be spurred on by the Spirit of God to intercede for them, support them, perhaps join them on the field, and rejoice with them that the gospel is being advanced in preparation for a mighty end-time harvest.

In the early days of the movement he led, John Wesley would constantly tell his leaders, “You have nothing to do but save souls.  Therefore spend and be spent in this work.”  Those words reverberate through 250 years of history and beckon us today.  May the North Carolina District continue to catch a vision for missions and spend itself in the work of seeking and saving the lost.

His servant and yours,
Chad Harvey
NC Missions Director
